Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine'

#6 Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine' is a compact, deciduous shrub known for its fine-textured, deep maroon to reddish-purple foliage and clusters of pinkish-white flowers in late spring to early summer. It grows to about 5-6 feet high and wide and has exfoliating bark for winter interest. This cultivar is a more manageable and less aggressive version of other ninebarks, tolerates a wide range of soil types, and is hardy in USDA Zones 3-8.
